Alas, the birch is gone but the bell remains. It luckily poses no risk to the power company.

the demise of our birch
All good things must come to an end it seems. This is what was left of our birch tree after the power company decreed that it had to either be butchered into sickening ugliness or just be taken out. We opted for the latter - definitely the lesser of two evils.

The Market Revisited
After he looked over the last post from the Farmer's Market, my son Jed told me bluntly (and yet nicely) that they could be better. He was correct. I revised some of them and sent them to him - he liked these much more. What do you think?

Pokagon in Autumn
